The Chappy ferry is located at 53 Dock Street in Edgartown, on the Island of Martha’s Vineyard, in Massachusetts.
The ferry runs between Memorial Wharf in Edgartown and Chappaquiddick Point, which is a straight-line distance of only 527 feet. We do not provide service either to the mainland or Nantucket.
The vehicle waiting line forms on Daggett Street and when busy can extend back onto Simpson’s Lane.
In the summertime, please approach the ferry line via Pease’s Point Way (make a left off of Main Street), drive .15 miles, and turn right onto Simpson’s Lane. If there are no vehicles waiting in line on Simpson’s Lane, drive down the lane to Daggett Street (turning left at the dead end onto North Water Street and 60 feet later turning right onto Daggett Street).
If there are vehicles waiting on Simpson’s Lane, very likely there will be a police officer at intersection of Daggett and North Water streets to assist the transfer of vehicles from Simpson’s Lane across North Water to Daggett.
If there are vehicles waiting on Simpson’s Lane and you approach via North Water Street, the police officer will direct you to drive around the block to line up on Simpson’s Lane.
