SUMMER SCHEDULE
The summer schedule is in effect from the Thursday before Memorial Day weekend through the last day of the Martha’s Vineyard Bass and Bluefish Derby which is mid-October.
During the summer, weather permitting, the ferry runs continuously:
6:30 am – midnight
To schedule an early trip – speak to the captain in person before 5:00 pm on the day before your early trip. A non-refundable fee must be paid in advance. $20 fee for 6:00 a.m. trip, $50 fee for 5:00 a.m. trip.
Notice to homeowners: The fee for after-hours ferry service for a police response to automatic burglar and fire alarm activation, whether actual or false alarms: $150.
FIRE, POLICE OR MEDICAL EMERGENCIES ON CHAPPAQUIDDICK:
If you have an emergency that requires assistance from the police, fire, ambulance or hospital: CALL 911. They will contact everyone necessary including the ferry captain.
Do not call 911 for ferry information.
There is an emergency phone at the front of the Chappaquiddick Firehouse.
The personnel at the Communications Center will call or page the necessary police, fire, and ferry personnel to handle emergencies on Chappaquiddick during operating hours as well as after hours when the ferry is shut down.
Missing the last ferry run because you stayed on the Vineyard side too late does not qualify as an emergency. Please do not bother the hardworking and dedicated people at the Communications Center with this type of problem. Plan ahead, keep track of the time and don’t wait until the last minute to rush to the ferry.
